James S. Young helps transit agencies and state governments to implement and improve system safety plans and procedures, rule compliance assessments, and accident/incident investigations. His expertise focuses on the interface between transit systems and the public, including pedestrians and automobiles. James manages the execution of safety reviews before new systems enter passenger service as well as during operation. He is experienced in conducting audits, writing and reviewing plans, and creating strategies to enhance operation. James earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from The Pennsylvania State University and a Master of City and Regional Planning degree with a Certificate in Urban Design from the University of Pennsylvania.
James enjoys urban exploration and local fare around the country as well as at home in Philadelphia. His other interests include mountain hiking, live music, and comedy. He is proud to have shed car ownership for the past several years in favor of using public transportation.
