George R. Sabol started with TRA in 2012 as a Senior Director of Security and Emergency Preparedness. This position was obtained after retiring from the New Jersey State Police, with a 26 year career at the rank of Major. At the time of his retirement, George was the Commanding Officer of the Field Operations Section, which is the largest component of the State Police. Comprised of approximately 1,700 enlisted members of a 3,000 member organization, his command consisted of uniform troopers and detectives throughout the entire State of N.J. This included the New Jersey Turnpike, Garden State Parkway, Atlantic City Expressway, Atlantic City International Airport, Meadowlands Complex (Giants Stadium), Trenton State House Security Complex and Urban Initiatives in the Cities of Camden and Irvington. George holds a Master’s Degree in Administrative Science and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. George also possesses several professional licenses, which consist of piloting Rotor and Fixed Wing aircraft and license to operate commercial maritime vessels. Since joining TRA, George has worked on projects involving Threat and Vulnerability Assessments, Interoperable Communications Planning and the implementation and execution of Drills and Exercises in compliance with DHS standards.
George is an outdoorsman and hunting enthusiast and spends much of his time coaching youth sports (football, baseball, and wrestling). George is also actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America and currently serves as the Cub Master within his community.
