As a Senior Director with TRA, Chris Kozub manages and supports State Safety Oversight services, and serves as a subject matter expert (SME) or Principal Investigator on projects focused on transportation operations, fire/life-safety, and security issues. Chris has over thirty years of experience in domestic and international transportation safety, emergency response, and training, with in-depth knowledge of safety, security, and emergency preparedness in all surface transportation modes. Over three decades, Chris has gained diverse and detailed experience, serving as an emergency responder, instructor, director, and academic researcher. Chris has been the Principal Investigator on several Transportation Research Board (TRB) Studies and USDOT and DHS training and research initiatives; served as a SME on a number of TRB panels; and is the Chair of the TRB Physical Security sub-committee. Before joining TRA, Chris participated in a USDHS and USDOT Interagency Leadership Group to conduct a White House led assessment of learning objectives, current programs and materials, and gaps in surface transportation security training. He was also called to testify before the US Congressional Committee on Homeland Security following the attacks on London’s public transit system in July 2007.
