How did you begin working at TRA? Who was your first client?

I learned about TRA from a classmate, Jenny Kane, who is a long time TRA veteran and current project manager. We both studied urban planning and policy together in Chicago. As a new project analyst in Philadelphia, most of my time was dedicated to the PennDOT RTSRP, assisting with plan and procedural reviews, operational assessments, and triennial audits.

What do you like most about your job?

I enjoy working with diverse teams that are filled with experts in a variety of subject matter. This environment provides the opportunity to learn something new each day, and get a glimpse at all of the working components that go into making a transit system function.

What would people be surprised to know about you?

I speak Portuguese. I was fortunate to have had several opportunities to study and work on environmental and transportation related projects in Brazil. I try to go back at least once a year, and enjoy exploring and learning about the rich and diverse culture each region offers.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?

I love traveling and experiencing new cultures (not just in Brazil!). One way I enjoy doing so is through music. I am an avid record collector and enjoy catching shows in new places whenever possible.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?

I have always wanted to visit the Lofoten Islands in Norway, although there are a lot of places on my travel wish list.
