TRA updated NCTD’s catalog of standard operating procedures (SOPs), including those for agency-wide operations and safety issues, and for commuter rail, transit rail, fixed route bus, paratransit, and demand-response bus.
The project involved a review of all such procedures currently in place across NCTD modes, identifying areas that could benefit from new or amended procedures premised upon industry best practices and APTA Standards, and creating a format and SOP organizational structure designed to increase the efficacy and efficiency of SOPs.
TRA has subsequently authored new SOPs and provided technical input on NCTD-authored documents, and formulating recommendations for training structures and approaches.
